Green Fingered?

Here's my little garden corner :D It's in the corner of my crafty/clothes room, great for morning/early afternoon sun.

From left to right(back row) : Albert the christmas tree; Amos Moses the cactus; peppermint tea plant; basil; parsley; (front row) two pots of bonsai pine trees and a peace lily plant.

I think that's the basil. It might be the parsely though :\ Anyway, it's growing well! The pot that it comes in is bio-degradable so when it's big enough to go in the ground, you just make cuts in the pot, and it will decompose.

F.O - Snuggly Stash Swap Scarf

Yay for illiteration!

But, this is the most snuggly scarf ever. Simple, easy to wear and soft too.

Pattern : My own. Basically, I CO a whole bunch of stitches, and knit it the round untill I ran out of yarn.
Yarn : Moiselle by Wendey, and some super soft brown yarn.
Needles : 15mm, 8ocm circs.
Time : 2 hours?
Cost : None, I recieved the yarn in a recent stash swap!

I get the feeling I'l be wearing this alot. I love it! It's not too showy, and has enough pink and ribbons to make me feel girly.

The Drop-Stitch tank is coming along nicely. I should be done by the end of next week, as long as I stop putting it down to play Pikmin :\

UK Swap

Here's all my info for my UK Swap partner. I hope it helps!

Part One: Crafting

Do you knit, crochet, or both?
Mostly knit, I only learnt crochet in the last year. But I love both.

What do you like to make? Do you have a favourite project?
I love making things from scraps of yarn, combining textures and fibres. I think it really stretches my imagination and I've learnt a lot of new techniques this way.

Do you have a favourite type of fiber or brand of yarn?
Nope! I don't even mind the odd bit of novelty yarn.

Do you have a least favourite type of yarn?
Super cheap squeaky acrylic, but who actually likes that stuff anyway?

Do you do any other crafts?
Yup! Sewing, scrap booking, cooking, gardening, anything and everything.

What knitting do you bring ‘on the go’?
Somthing small and repetative, usually on circulars.

What do you carry your ‘on the go’ knitting in? Do you want something new?
I just carry it in my regular shoulder bag, which is usually ok. If it doesn't fit in there it's probably too big to be carrying around.

Are there any knitting gifts (book, toy, yarn, item, tool) that you have been lusting over?
Buttons, oh how I love buttons! Some new stitch holders would be nice...

Part Two: Your Favourites

What is your favourite colour? What is your least favourite colour?
My favourites are brown, red, purple - kind of earthy colours at the moment. I don't really have a least favourite. Maybe pastels? Yeah, pastels are bad!

What scents/smells do you like? What don’t you like?
I love citrus/fruity smells and sweet cakey smells. I don't like spicy or overly flowerey though.

How do you like to pamper yourself?
With a good film, a big mug of mocha and some easy knitting!

What goodies to you like to treat your tummy with?
Well, I'm sticking to a diet this year, so herbal and fruity teas are nice. No chocolate though! But hard boiled sweets are nice, they last longer.

Do you prefer tea or coffee while you knit? Any particular kind? Favourite mug/cup?
I use a mug my boyfriend stole from a hotel :\ As long as it's filled with a hot drink, I don't mind what it is!

Do you listen to/watch anything while you knit?
I watch anime and dubbed Asian films. Anything that has a lot of speech is good. I don't really listen any podcasts, aside from Stash and Burn.

Part Three: Living & Past-times

Where do you live in the UK?
Lowestoft, Suffolk, on the windy east coast.

Have you always lived here, or did you grow up somewhere else?
I was born here, moved away when I was 11, and moved back when I was 14. It's definatly my hometown.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Japan! I love Asian culture in general, and have always been fascinated by Japan in particular. Although, I've yet to learn the language.

If you couldn’t go to a knitting group, what other kind of gathering would you go to?
I've never been to a gathering/group like that before. Maybe a book group, I love reading new things.

What’s your style?
Eek, I'm not sure. Maybe lazy/funky/wishes she put more effort in! Hah, I normally wear jeans with a handmade top and big stompy boots. I have bright pink hair too, and piercings, so take from that what you will.

Final Part:

Any allergies/preferences?
Just fresh tomatoes!

Anything we missed that you’d like your partner to know?
I don't think so! If I can think of anything, I'll post it.

I love filling out questionnaires :D

Happy New Year

We had a stupidly large aprty last night, as it's Sean's birthday as well as New Years. I didn't wake up will 2pm. Naughty naughty...

Anyway, new year, new start right? This year I have three revalutions :

1. Get rid of stuff I don't need
2. Use up my huge stash of fabric and yarn before I buy more
3. Get in shape/be healthier

Seems quite easy to do. I've started the second one already (watch me go and get out of breath before I achieve anything). I'm going to stick to a rule of using up one colour of yarn every month. January is red, so here's my red yarn that needs to disapear.

There's 4 balls of some red 4-ply, 3 balls of burgandy rayon, and 1 ball and a couple of scraps of soft red yarn. I plan to use it all before the month is out.

I've started the drop-stitch lace tank from Fitted Knits, using the red rayon in the top right corner. It's going really well, and making a really lush fabric.
